What you need to know
- It's registered at the same registry as .al and goes through the same manual approval by AKEP — the time is not fixed and the request may be rejected.
- The form asks for your legal status and the relevant document: ID card or passport for individuals, NIPT for businesses.
- Registration years start from the approval date.
- The transfer code (EPP) is issued manually by the current registrar, just like for .al.
- Like the whole .al registry, it doesn't support DNSSEC.

What's the difference between .al and .com.al?
The same registry, the same approval from AKEP and the same documents. Only the address changes: .com.al has «.com» before «.al», and the prices are set separately.
Do I need a business for .com.al?
AKEP's form asks for the legal status — individual or business — and the relevant document. For a business, the NIPT must match the registered name.
Should I register both, .al and .com.al?
If the name is your brand, yes: that way nobody else takes the variant. You can redirect one to the other from the DNS panel.
How long does approval take?
Same as for .al: there's no fixed deadline. We check the status at the registry every hour and notify you by email as soon as the domain is activated.
